When I began teaching combat unfortunately I noticed that many teach the use of the knife in the wrong way. The knife is one of the most important tools for the man and his daily use is connected to my personal story, to my way of life, the principles learned from the teachings of my father and all the experience acquired as a teacher. So I decided to design this knife especially for my students, who have to learn that when they are alone in the woods must be able, with a single tool, to build their shelter, finding food and water, build a fire to know and meet all requirements needed to survive. My idea is with the knife KAPAP can survive and save lives in any place and at any time.

Nel 1977 Oreste Frati, dopo una lunga esperienza nel settore produttivo e in quello commerciale, fonda la FOX Coltellerie.

Il nome dell’azienda, FOX (sono le iniziali del titolare), in inglese volpe, è quanto mai indicato per questa giovane azienda che, in così breve tempo, si è distinta per la carica innovativa e per la lungimiranza delle sue idee. Idee di successo che si sono introdotte in una scelta di materiali di qualità, in un uso di tecnologie avanzate e nella cura particolareggiata del minimo dettaglio.

Nonostante FOX sia molto cresciuta, tutta la produzione è ancora direttamente controllata e programmata dal signor Oreste, coadiuvato dalla moglie Valnea, dal figlio Gabriele e da collaboratori specializzati.

Ed è proprio questo felice binomio tra una consolidata tradizione professionale e il desiderio di innovazione tecnica, che ha fatto diventare FOX Coltellerie, un’azienda di prim’ordine nel panorama del mercato nazionale ed internazionale. Al marchio Fox si è poi aggiunto l'FKMD - Fox Knives Military Division, dedicato ai coltelli tattici e militari, già apprezzati ed utilizzati da numerosi reparti militari in tutto il Mondo.
