Robert I. Bruce war von 1306 bis 1329 König von Schottland. Er stammte aus normannischen und schottisch-gälischen Ländern und war einer der größten Könige Schottlands sowie einer der berühmtesten Krieger seiner Zeit. Er führte Schottland gegen das Königreich England während der schottischen Unabhängigkeitskriege.
Er war der Urenkel von David I. von Schottland und stand oft im Konflikt mit dem schottischen Helden William Wallace.

These iconic words engraved on the blade define this historic sword replica. The creed of the Knights Templar - Nothing for us, Lord, nothing for us but for the glory of thy name - marked their illustrious and sometimes infamous 200 year military influence.
This magnificent sword named The Accolade would have been a sword worthy of the Grand Master to knight a loyal member into this holy order. The best metalsmiths from Windlass Steelcrafts have spent hours on each blade, hand forging the high carbon steel for optimal balance, quickness and durability.
The pommel features a highly detailed Templar coin on each side with Latin inscription and the symbols that have grown synonomous with the Templar Order, while the grip is hand-wrapped with a rich genuine red leather with a wire over-wrap. The sword includes a custom, matching wooden scabbard covered in top grain, heavy-duty leather and a period belt with solid metal fittings.

Cette réplique, construite avec des méthodologies et des principes très similaires à ceux utilisés au Moyen Âge, est esthétiquement détaillée et bien finie comme tout produit d'affichage mais aussi absolument fonctionnelle, flexible et bien équilibrée grâce au soin de production et à l'acier au carbone utilisé trempé à une dureté de 45/49 HRC.

Connue sous de nombreux noms (épée de guerre, grande épée, épée large, longue épée ou simplement épée à deux mains) elle a longtemps dérouté de nombreux collectionneurs mais s'est certainement taillée une place parmi les armes les plus populaires.Sa longueur assure puissance, résistance et aide à garder une distance raisonnable de l'adversaire. Grâce aussi à la présence du ricasso (partie de la lame sans tranchant placé après la garde) cette arme est encore plus flexible car si nécessaire elle peut également être tenue comme une lance courte.
