Die Task-Serie wurde für alle alltäglichen Schneidarbeiten entwickelt.

Die Klinge ist teilweise symmetrisch mit einer flachen Kante auf beiden Seiten. Der vertiefte Teil der Klinge nach dem Schutz, der den geschärften Teil vom Griff trennt, wurde durch Unterbringen des Zeigefingers während des Gebrauchs realisiert, wodurch ein Griffpunkt in der Nähe des geschärften Teils zur besseren Kontrolle während des Gebrauchs des Messers geschaffen wurde.

Diese Funktion ermöglicht zusammen mit dem Haltegriff auf der Rückseite des Messers einen besseren Halt, ohne dass die Hand auf der Klinge rutscht. Auf diese Weise ist es möglich, bei Bedarf einen Großteil der Schneidarbeiten durch Anlegen eines höheren Drucks auszuführen.

Das Design dieses von COFS (Special Forces Operative Command) in der Person von General Bertolini gesponserten Militärmessers war bereits von einigen Sammlern weißer Waffen dieser Zeit vorgeschlagen worden. Das Restyling des berühmten "Fallschirmjäger-Angriffsdolch-Mods". 1939 "ist ein wichtiges Stück italienischer Militärgeschichte.

Während das Messer die Linie, die Struktur und die Proportionen des Originals entlehnt, wurde es verstärkt, mit funktionellen Modifikationen angereichert und mit Materialien mit modernen militärischen Spezifikationen hergestellt. Das Ergebnis dieser wenigen Modifikationen ist ein äußerst funktionaler und effektiver Dolch. Die Scheide ist knöchelförmig und kann getragen werden, da italienische Fallschirmjäger normalerweise ein Bajonett tragen.

Die 39-09 COMBAT-Version ist die kompakte Version mit 160-mm-Klinge und Seitenmantel.

Nach eingehenden Anfragen von professionellen Kunden entschied sich Extrema Ratio für ein Survival-Tool, das für jede Situation geeignet ist.

Daher die Ontos, (aus dem Griechischen "la cosa") ein reines, robustes, schweres aber kompaktes Feldmesser. Ein Teil der Klinge ist so gezahnt, dass ein Teil des Messers immer scharf und einsatzbereit ist.

Die Nylon-Oberschenkelscheide mit M.O.L.L.E. er bleibt auf dem Soldaten, selbst wenn er im Falle eines Rückzugs gezwungen ist, die primäre, schwere und taktische Ausrüstung zu verlassen. Al Hülle ist an eine Tasche befestigt, ebenfalls mit M.O.L.L.E. System, eine Überlebensausrüstung enthält, die den Ontos ein echtes Überlebensmesser macht; dazu ein Leuchtstab (Dauer 12 Stunden) und ein Diamantspitzer.
