Wie all die alten Elfenklingen leuchtet Sting magisch mit einem blauen Licht in der Nähe von Orks in der Nähe; Gollum, der alles hasst, was die Elfen getan haben (wegen der intrinsischen Ladung der Reinheit, die Elben-Objekte von ihren Erschaffern aufnehmen), hat Angst vor Sting.

Benché per gli standard di uomini ed elfi sia da considerarsi una sorta di daga, per un Hobbit si può considerare una spada a tutti gli effetti. Bilbo diede Pungolo a Frodo, poco prima della partenza della Compagnia dell'Anello da Gran Burrone. Dopo la sconfitta di Sauron alla fine della Terza Era, Frodo la donò a Samvise Gamgee.

Il nome "Pungolo" venne dato alla spada da Bilbo dopo il suo combattimento coi Ragni Giganti di Bosco Atro, nelle prime versioni però il nome dato alla spada è "pungiglione".

Come tutte le antiche lame elfiche, Pungolo risplende magicamente di una luce azzurrina in caso di presenza di Orchi nelle vicinanze; Gollum, che detesta tutto ciò che è stato fatto dagli Elfi (a causa dell'intrinseca carica di purezza che gli oggetti elfici assorbono dai loro creatori), ha paura di Pungolo. Questo ha aiutato Bilbo nel suo confronto con Gollum sotto la montagna ne Lo Hobbit e, successivamente, anche Frodo grazie al terrore che la lama ispirava a Gollum, è riuscito a domarlo (temporaneamente) ne Il Signore degli Anelli. Pungolo ha la capacità di tagliare facilmente le tele di ragno visto che con ogni probabilità era stato creato proprio per questa necessità da suoi creatori di Gondolin, a quel tempo infatti vi erano numerosi ragni per i boschi lì attorno e risultava quindi più comodo avere uno spadino o pugnale da usare piuttosto che una grande spada. Questa lama è di assoluto terrore per Shelob e tutti i ragni in generale cresciuti nell'oscurità.

The blade's flattened diamond shape and equally wide fuller reduced weight, yet retained strength in the end of the blade by stopping just short of the tip. It was equally effective for slashing against lightly armored opponents and for thrusting into more heavily protected enemies. The guard, similar to that of his father's sword, showed a warrior's flourish in that it was formed from a square-edged piece of steel that had been twisted before being curved into a crescent. The handgrip was wide like the blade, and the pommel was an elegant and simple piece of steel that added weight to balance the blade.

Under the command of Gandalf the WhiteTM the men of Gondor defended Minas Tirith, the Kingdom of Gondor, from within the city walls against the siege of Sauron. Greatly outnumbered by Sauron´s armies, the Gondorian infantry did not stand a chance in open war. Miraculously, with the use of their trebuchets and archers, the Gondorian army held their own until the nine Nazgûl, upon their fell beasts, swooped in destroying the trebuchets and forcing men to flee their posts. This distraction allowed the trolls to push their siege towers in, unleashing scores of orcs onto the walls of the city, and allowing the release of Mordor´s greatest weapon - Grond, a 150 foot iron battering ram shaped like a wolf. The gates of the city would not hold, driving the Gondorians back into the third level of the city. 

With much of the lower levels of Gondor in flames, it seemed as if it was on the verge of a catastrophic defeat, until suddenly the Riders of the Rohirrim appeared on the horizon, closing in and driving the armies of Mordor away from the city, thus ending the siege upon Gondor and entering into the Battle of the Pelennor fields. Although the Gondorians were technologically advanced compared to most races of Middle-earth, the design of the helm carries details reminiscent of Numenor. The barbut style helm - one piece, shoulder-length, and open-faced - finished off the suit of steel plate armor that a Gondorian infantryman wore. The smooth finish and flared bottom of the helm offered better neck protection, allowing blows to be deflected away from the body. Adorned on the sides of the helm are seabird wings, a familiar Gondorian motif.

Tauriel is a Silvan Elf and daughter of Mirkwood. Her parents were killed by orcs when she was younger and it is hinted that Thranduil looked after her since then. L'arco di Legolas è ricavato da un'unica asta di legno di Manao.Alto circa 150 cm, ha una corda composta di 14 fili, che permette un allungo di 70cm.
Esso viene realizzato in esemplari di diversa potenza, 35, 45, 50 libbre, così da renderlo adatto ad ogni tipo di esigenza, dalla competizione all'uso amatoriale, al collezionismo.
Due frecce in dotazione, lunghe 80cm realizzate in legno con punta "a stiletto" in ferro, fedele all'originale.

La United per la felicità di tantissimi fans, ha riproposto le riproduzioni delle bellissime daghe elfiche di Legolas. Vendute in coppia con il supporto di legno per l'esposizione, le lame delle daghe misurano cm 40 e hanno uno spessore massimo di 5 mm; la lunghezza totale è invece di cm 57. Peso cad. 438 gr.
